Dr. Bilhorn is a Board-Certified Obstetrician-Gynecologist practicing office gynecology, with interests in adolescent as well as menopausal medicine.  She graduated from Duke University and the UNC School of Medicine, and completed residency at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, where she then practiced medicine for nine years.

She spent the next 11 years in East Africa serving as a missionary with her veterinarian husband, Lorin, and their three teen-age children.  She returned to North Carolina in 2005, and now considers Hickory "home."  She enjoys cooking, reading, birding, and traveling with her family.
