National Infertility Awareness Week fosters a community of understanding and education

1 in 5 women struggle with infertility

Deciding to have a baby is a defining moment for couples ready to fulfill their dream of parenthood. Most of us expect nature to take its course quickly. However, the CDC says about 1 in 5 women are unable to get pregnant after a year of trying, and some women have further difficulty carrying a pregnancy to full term after they get pregnant.

Eliminating the isolation

National Infertility Awareness Week helps encourage women to share their stories and learn about their common experiences. By gathering accurate information about the causes of infertility, women realize they are not alone and can take meaningful steps to achieve a healthy pregnancy and build the family they desire.

Tip the fertility scale in your favor

The weeks and months before you become pregnant are more important than you realize. We are accustomed to the idea of women taking care of themselves during pregnancy, but how you care for yourself beforehand has a big impact on your fertility, and how quickly you become pregnant. Consulting with the doctors and specialists at A Woman’s View can help give you a clear picture of your pre-conception health and help you understand the potential roadblocks to fertility. Our specialists will ask about your family history, medical issues, and medications, and can provide guidance about the healthy food and lifestyle choices that will increase the likelihood of conception.

Treatment options are available if needed

Even with careful preparation, about 20% of women do not conceive as expected. Our caring OB/GYN team can help you navigate the best path to pregnancy success by evaluating your ovulation patterns and conducting tests to determine possible problems. Our physicians are trained to diagnose and treat infertility and can recommend specialized treatment if needed.

During National Infertility Awareness Week, and every week, you can rely on the dedicated team of women’s health professionals at A Woman’s View. We are here for you with counseling, intervention, and support to help fulfill your dream of a happy, healthy baby.
